Forgiveness is

  • a release, or liberty
  • a cause for celebration—jubilee. In Strong’s Concordance, I find that “jubilee” refers to “the blast of a horn (from its continuous sound); the signal of the silver trumpets, or an introduction.
10So you are to consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty in the land for all its inhabitants. It shall be your Jubilee, when each of you is to return to his property and to his clan.

(Leviticus 25:10, Berean Study Bible). As joint-heirs with Jesus Christ and as sojourners in this dimension, we have property in heaven, and we have family in heaven. As I am seated with Christ in heavenly places, the race I’m running in this dimension is through a virtual reality experience. As I run, my eyes are to be on Jesus, seated at the right hand of Power, until the second advent—when the LORD comes again in the clouds of the sky, like He said (Mark 14:62).

The things I’ve stored in this virtual reality, which moths and time destroy or can be taken away, is not my treasure (Matthew 6:19-20). This house is not my home. Even this perishable body will be replaced with one that is eternal (John 6:27; I Peter 1:23; I Corinthians 15:53).

Forgiveness allows me access. God is love. In action, He has been grace to me—payment of my sin debt and thus, my emancipation. My freedom. 

14... for this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16I ask that out of the riches of His glory He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, 17so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Then you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18will have power, together with all the saints, to comprehend the length and width and height and depth 19of the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

(Ephesians 3, BSB). The height, breadth, and depth of God has provided light where I walked in darkness and forgiveness where I was condemned. God, as Love in action, has given me the only good works I’m fit for, and they all boil down to believing in the LORD Jesus—allowing Him to finish what He started (Philippians 1:3-6).
