(Leviticus 22:29-30). I’ve said it before, in a different way: Law had a window that expired. Grace is also a window—an offer from the God of heaven, which also expires. When an offer is made, it’s contingent and so, not complete, until the conditions of acceptance are met.
9If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has borne concerning his Son. 10Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. 11And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
(I John 5:9-11). In the case of Father God’s offer of life—by grace—the necessary and sufficient condition of acceptance is an agreement with God’s testimony, through faith (Ephesians 2:6-9).
